February 18-22, 2015: ISA's 56th Annual Convention. Lene Hansen, Rebecca Adler-Nissen, Iver Neumann, Megan MacKenzie and Simone Molin Friis participated in ISA's Annual Convention in New Orleans. All researchers gave a talk at the panel "Can Images Make IR Global? Challenges and Opportunities of the Visual Turn" on February 18, 2015, 8.15-10.00.

November 20-21, 2014: "Visualizing War: The Power of Emotions in Politics." Images and International Security was represented at the conference "Visualizing War: The Power of Emotions in Politics" at the University of Southern Denmark. The topic of the interdisciplinary conference was the role of images of war and emotions in shaping political debates. During the conference, Lene Hansen delivered a keynote speech entitled "Images and International Affect: Chemical Warfare as the Syrian Limit". 

November 19, 2014: CAST Research Seminar on security and graphic narratives. CAST Research Seminar with Lene Hansen. The seminar was titled "Drawing War: Understanding the High Security - Everyday Practice Nexus through Graphic Narrative".

November 7, 2014: "Vidensfernis" at the Faculty Library of Social Sciences. Simone Molin Friis gave a talk at the Faculty Library of Social Sciences' event on conflict resolution. The theme of the talk was the visual representation of the violent character of war with emphasis on the recent beheading videos.

October 28, 2014: Lecture on the negotiation of international hierarchies in the euro crisis. Rebecca Adler-Nissen delivered the fourth lecture in the EURECO Distinguished Lecture Series 2014: "Reinventing Europe". The lecture was titled "‘Lazy Greeks’ and ‘Nazi Germans’: Negotiating International Hierarchies in the Euro Crisis".

October 17-19, 2014: "Quo Vadis IR: Method, Methodology and Innovation". Lene Hansen delivered "Text and Images in IR - What Makes for a Critical Methodology" at the annual conference of Millenium: Journal of International Studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

June 20-21, 2014: Michael C. Williams and Lene Hansen took part in the second workshop of the research network on Classical Realism and Critical Theory held at the University of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

June 12-13, 2014: Lene Hansen gave a presentation on ‘Images and International Security: An Interdisciplinary Challenge’, at the Symposium ‘The Laws of Security: Reconceptualising Security at the Intersections of Law, Criminology & International Relations’, Centre for Criminal Justice Studies, University of Leeds.

April 11, 2014: Lene Hansen gave a talk on 'Visual Securitization: Taking Security Studies from the Word to the Image' in the Research Seminar Series at the School of Political Science and International Studies, University of Queensland.

April 3, 2014: Lene Hansen gave a talk on 'Visual Securitization: Taking Security Studies from the Word to the Image' in the colloquium series at the Department of Government and International Relations, University of Sydney.

March 26-29, 2014. Lene Hansen, Rebecca Adler-Nissen, Megan MacKenzie, Iver Neumann and Michael Williams participated in the Annual Conference of the International Studies Association (ISA) in Toronto.

Marts 7, 2014. Rebecca Adler-Nissen presented her forthcoming book, Opting Out of the European Union: Diplomacy, Sovereignty and European Integration (Cambridge University Press, 2014) in the CISS Speaker Series at the Centre for International Security Studies, University of Sydney.

February 20-22, 2014. Lene Hansen, Rebecca Adler-Nissen and Megan MacKenzie participated in the 'Q Symposium: Peace and Security in a Quantum Age'. The Q Symposium is an inaugural global conference at the Centre for International Security Studies, University of Sydney.

February 20, 2014. Lene Hansen delivered the 7th Annual Michael Hintze Lecture in International Security at the Centre for International Security Studies, University of Sydney.

January 23, 2014. Lene Hansen gave a talk on 'Visual Securitization: Taking Security Studies from the Word to the Image' in the ICCS Seminar Series at the Institute for Conflict, Cooperation and Security, University of Birmingham.
